- Final Thoughts!
You’ve come across a few solid playlists, and now you’re wondering, how to contact Spotify playlist curators like these?
Let me be honest with you. Some playlist curators want you to find them.
Others are just like this:

Because they’re the ones who protect their brand and keep their playlist quality tight.
At SoundCampaign, we work with tons of playlist owners.
Some are happy to connect. Others keep their info completely private, no email, no socials, nothing.
That’s why I can’t promise you’ll reach everyone, but I can show you how to find the ones who are open. Also, how to contact those curators right away.
But before we get into it, let me show you what types of playlists are there so that you don’t shoot blanks in the dark.
Step 1: Know the Types of Spotify Playlists (Most Artists Waste Time Here)
Spotify Editorial Playlists (The Big Guys)
Such playlists are curated by Spotify’s internal editors. These include experts like RapCaviar, Fresh Finds, and New Music Friday.

Let me give you a quick tip to spot such playlists. Just look at the green ‘Spotify’ icon above the total saves here 👇

Cool, isn’t it? Now you can spot it within seconds!
But here’s the truth: you can’t email them. The only way in is to submit your track through ‘Spotify for Artists’ at least 7 days before release.
🌍 Community Playlists (Where You Should Focus)
Community playlists are usually run by bloggers, influencers, curators, and other musicians.
Just because these playlists aren’t coming from Spotify, that doesn’t mean they’re any less important.
There will be chances when you see a playlist with barely a couple of thousand saves.

And then, you’ll see something with over 90K saves.

Lastly, we have
🤖 Bot Playlists (Avoid These Like the Plague)
Bot playlists generally have high follower counts, easy access, and negligible/fake engagement.
While these playlists seem tempting, adding yourself to such playlists raises a red flag for Spotify editors.
Add yourself in these playlists and say bye-bye to editorial playlists.

Now that you’ve understood the types of playlists out there, it's time to pitch, and this leads us to the second step.
Step 2: Make Sure the Music Deserves the Pitch.
- Before you pitch, you have to make sure you’ve got this in check: Professionally mixed and mastered track
- Eye-catching, genre-appropriate cover art
- Fits the energy of the playlists you’re pitching to
Step 3: How to Find the Curators Behind the Playlists
Okay, here comes the main part. Let me show you how we can get in touch with these playlist owners:
First, go to Spotify and type anything you’ve got in mind based on the mood of your track.
Let’s say I wanna find a playlist related to ‘gangsta rap,’ so I’ll type the same on Spotify search like this:

And I pick one from it:

There, I noticed a name that looks like a username: @Manna.usd
So, I searched this on Instagram. And voila, I found someone.

Let’s check if this is the guy we’re looking for.
Hmm.. It looks like we’ve hit the jackpot here.

Next steps? We will go ahead and pitch this guy using that Instagram ‘message’ and ‘contact’ button.
Just a Bonus Tip for You:
When you’re finding these Spotify playlists and curators behind them, you’ll have so many that you’ll forget where you found them.
Instead of going back to find those and waste your time, I’d suggest keeping everything on a spreadsheet or a simple notepad on your phone.

Step 4: Pitch Like a Person, Not a Promo Bot
This is the part where most artists mess up.
They copy-paste the same message to 50 curators, get ignored, and then blame the system.
Are you on the same track? Well…

Here’s the truth:
Curators aren’t gatekeepers. They’re humans. And if you want to get on their radar, you have to act like one too.
Before you hit send, ask yourself:
- Is this playlist active?
- Do they feature artists like me?
- What rates this Spotify curator might ask for? Do I’ve enough budget?
If you answered no to any of these, pause. Fix that first.
But if you’re aligned and ready, I’ve got your back. I’ll show you exactly how to pitch without sounding desperate. Let’s get into it.
Step 5: Write a Message That Doesn’t Feel Like Spam
✍️ When it’s time to send that pitch, speak like a human, not a robot. Keep it simple and clear.
Just like this:

Basically,
- Describe who you are (1-2 lines max)
- What your track is + your Spotify link
- State specifically why it fits their playlist
- Mention a track they’ve added that your music aligns with. And include a direct Spotify link, smart link, or teaser clip, especially for DMs (optional).
Bonus Tip: Add a personal touch by using Loom to record a short intro video or make a quick visual EPK (Electronic Press Kit) in Canva. You can even drop your track via a Hypeddit smart link to make everything clean and clickable.
❌ What Not to Do (Please Read This Twice)
- Life story dumps
- Skip the formalities like 'Dear Sir', keep it casual and genuine, just like you're reaching out to a fellow music lover
- Don’t send demos or Dropbox files
- Don’t send multiple follow-ups in one week
Step 6: Go an Extra Mile (Use SoundCampaign)
You want to skip all the trouble you’ve gotten into so far? In that case, SoundCampaign is the answer you’re looking for.
In plain English, this is how it works:
You sign up, send your track, get feedback from their big pool of playlist owners you can never access, and get playlisted.
Let me show you how it works.
First, go to SoundCampaign and click on ‘Promote Now.’

Select ‘Spotify Campaign’

Pick your song now.

Select your genre.

Your campaign budget.

And it will look like this. So, you gotta continue further.

And then in a week or so, you’ll start seeing results like this:

Some curators will put your track in their playlist while others might reject it with nice feedback.
Easy, isn’t it?
🤝 Build Real Connections, Not Just One-Time Pitches
So a curator just added you to the playlist? Congrats, that must’ve felt great. But your work doesn’t end here.
After you get added, share the playlist in your story, tag the curator, and show the story behind how you got there.
If you don’t wanna share the story, you may talk about the good moments you had with that person when you two were just talking about music.
And even if none of that exists, just say a simple thank you sharing the last screenshot or your playlist screenshot.
There are chances that the last screenshot might reveal some private conversation. So in that case, you can simply put up a meme like this one in the second story.

I don’t care what you do, just do something to make that ‘curator’ feel special about you.
Final Thoughts!
Look, getting playlisted isn’t easy. In fact, it’s so damn hard.
There will be days when you’ll get rejected, you’ll be asked for a lot of money, and you’ll be completely ignored.
In such situations, what you can do is have a ‘strong mindset’ to go through that kind of adversity.
The more you research, the more you find, and the better your chances of being playlisted by the best Spotify curators.
And if you wanna skip all of that, have a little budget and faith in SoundCampaign.
This is something I’ve started in 2018. The reason being? Being a musician myself, I learnt it’s not easy to get noticed out there.
So, I started SoundCampaign.
Guess what? This is the kind of love we have received from the hood so far:

Sounds great? Well then, I’ve got a surprise for you!
